La Grange is a wonderful Gite. Exceptionally clean everywhere, really comfortable bed. The gite had everything you could want and the hosts were so helpful and friendly- really lovely people. This is a beautiful well equipped gîte. The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. A lovely welcoming generous hamper. The gîte is in a quiet area with some easy walks very close but it is not at all far to supermarkets and boulangeries. Altogether a very enjoyable holiday and we mustn’t forget the fabulous pool. What a super place this is . A perfect place for a quiet family holiday . The hosts are a super couple who have thought of everything - from the welcome pack - to all the little things you need in a Gites . Nothing was forgotten . The pool is perfect and much needed and used during our stay as we had a heatwave -it is cleaned every day by this special robot and the lawn is kept pristine by another clever machine. The local area is wall to wall vines and beautiful countryside . It really is a super place . We had a great holiday - thank you so much. Greg K July 2022

We were greeted royally by Isabelle and Stephen! The stay was restful and conducive to discovering the Bordeaux region and its vineyards, thanks to the advice of our hosts. Everything has been designed for a relaxing holiday without constraints: impeccable cleanliness, provision of everything you need, comfort ... not to mention the swimming pool, a delight! We enthusiastically recommend this cottage without any hesitation!

Cottage perfectly updated and very well equipped, with a very pleasant outdoor space and a superb heated swimming pool, overlooking the vineyards; everything is very well maintained and managed by Isabelle and Stephen, benevolent, who moreover offer a beautiful basket filled with products on your arrival. Very pleasant stay in this beautiful region. Located in a quiet place and surrounded by vineyards, the cottage is comfortable with everything you need. Yes yes, absolutely EVERYTHING. And spotlessly clean. What a pleasure to wake up to the crowing of the rooster !!! The pool and its surroundings were very comfortable. We appreciated the great kindness and discretion of the owners. A welcome basket awaited us upon our arrival. A nice touch that comes in handy after a day on the road. We will recommend it to friends.

In a quiet environment, Isabelle and Stephen offered us a cottage that we can qualify as exceptional. Cleanliness, equipment, everything is there, we do not lack anything (pool towel, bath towel, household product, charcoal for barbecue, .....) On our arrival, a little hamper awaited us including ice cream much appreciated by children. It was a great week for us adults and children alike. The pool is perfect for having fun with the family but also lazing around. Thank you for this week we would come back without hesitation

Beautiful gite in a fantastic location, not far from local amenities. Everything you could want from a holiday, Stephen and Isabelle on hand if you needed anything and very accommodating. The gite is fully kitted out for all your needs and the welcome hamper is lovely. We loved our stay and will be going back. Thank you for an amazing stay!
A cottage in which the hosts have done everything they can to ensure that our stay is wonderful and that we lack nothing. When we arrived with our three children, the cottage was extremely clean. Isabelle and Stephen have everything planned: a basket filled with multiple products (sweet and savory cakes, ice cream in the freezer, ground coffee and espresso pods, wine, and much more ...). The bedding is very comfortable and the pool is exceptional. Isabelle and Stephen allowed us to benefit from a private visit within the chateau and its vineyards where she works. It was a great meeting and a wonderful stay in Gironde!

We had a wonderful holiday at La Grange, the house was the best equipped holiday home that we have ever stayed in! It was literally a home from home! The bedrooms all had en suites which was great when we all needed showers at the end of the day! The swimming pool was a great depth and size, and the whole family spent most of our time beside it! Our hosts Isabelle and Stephen could not have been more welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely try and return to this property in the future! Thank you for a great French experience!

Beautiful home, Wonderful hosts!

We had an amazing time at Saint Mariens. The property is absolutely gorgeous. It is in a lovely, quiet area but is within easy reach of many places like Saint Emilion, Royan, La Rochelle, Blaye, Bourg etc. There are supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, etc all within a 5 minute drive. If you are a runner the local lanes are perfect for a jog. Isabelle and Stephen are perfect hosts. They invited us for an apéro one evening which was a highlight of the stay. The house is in great condition. They have thought of anything - so many things are provided to help you with any washing, cooking you need to do. The English TV channels on the tv are great too. The wifi was more than adequate for the 4 of us. The three bedrooms are lovely - you can easily fit 6 into the house and you will not feel hemmed in. The pool area is a god send. It is beautifully designed and provides much needed relief on those hot French days. There are plenty of loungers, chairs and even a comfortable sofa next to the pool. We really cannot think of any negatives about this property. We stayed for ten nights in July/August 2019. Communication between ourselves and Isabelle/Stephen before and during the stay was spot on. Do make sure you take up the offer of a visit to the Chateau where Isabelle works - it was fascinating!
The welcome pack of wine, saucisson, crisps, water, milk etc was a lovely touch. We recommend this property without reservation! Go for it and book it!

2018

Our first stay family stay at souchet was a great success so thought we would return for another week.
As expected everything was perfect again, a great addition to the main double room was a very comfortable bed and as before there were plenty of provisions to eat and drink, much welcome after a long journey so no need to faff with a supermarket.
Stephen & Isabelle are great and more than happy to offer advice about the local area and have a great knowledge of local wine.
The pool is fab, sparkling clean and great for the kids. There really is nothing I would change and would highly recommend to anyone. We would definitely go back. Nick & Debbie August 18

Dream house for wine lovers We have booked many holiday homes in Italy, Spain (Majorca), Austria and Germany. However, this gite has exceeded everything in a positive sense. If you are looking for peace and quiet away from the tourist bustle and do not need the unconditional sea, you will not find much better. An above average, equipped house, very tastefully and lovingly restored, in-between the Chateux Vines . A perfect pool (from 2017, very well maintained, 8x4m), within a large well-kept outdoor area. For example, even large pool towels are provided for the pool, towels and bed linen also and can be exchanged. The owners live next door, the house is secluded. They are very friendly and helpful, without ever disturbing or intrusive. All in all a great holiday, in a great holiday home. We will be back. Hans And Isa July 18

On arrival we were greeted by Isabelle and Steve and introduced to an immaculate and very welcoming gite. Isabelle and Steve had thought of pretty much everything to make the start of our stay easy and relaxing - complete with a comprehensive welcome pack which meant there was no panic to immediately shop. They were unfailingly helpful and friendly and all their efforts were much appreciated by us all.

Set outside little village of St Mariens, about an hour from Bordeaux, Stephen & Isabelle's gite is a 3 ensuite bed renovated cottage set in a restful garden and having its own private pool.
Stephen could not have been more helpful answering my queries before we arrived and Isabelle took time out for us to give us a private tour of the vineyard where she works , the Chateau Puynard.
Stephen and Isabelle had thought of everything to make a very pleasant stay- we had a great time and will be back.

Four of us stayed at this very comfortable Gite. We have visited the Bordeaux area many times and this was the best by a long way. This holiday home was very well presented with great attention paid to detail in the décor. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts, Stephen and Isabelle who simply couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home and were happy to recommend local attractions and restaurants – our favourite was Phileas Fogg in nearby Civrac-de-Blaye. On arrival, we were greeted with an extensive welcome pack and the Gite also contained many of the day to day essentials not always included in holiday rentals. The pool has recently been refurbished with beautiful wooden decking and the Gite is surrounded by vineyards. All in all we had a very enjoyable week at La Grange and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. A huge thanks to Stephen and Isabelle for a wonderful week (in spite of the weather). This cottage is perfect: full of charm, impeccable cleanliness, ditto for the pool and the garden. Everything is done by Stephen and Isabelle to make you feel good. The number of basic products is impressive, everything is there, from the basket garnished with welcome (rare for a lodging) to the shampoo in every bathroom passing by the charcoal, homemade jam by Stephen, etc. .. The welcome from Stephen and Isabelle in addition to all these benefits made us feel like guests more than as tenants and this makes all the difference. We had a great family holiday and the kids enjoyed themselves in the pool. We will definitely come back to this property again. Do not hesitate for a second, you can go there with your eyes closed. We had a splendid time at La Grange, Souchet ! Great place ! Having the swimming pool at hand’s reach was just like paradise on demand! Stephen and Isabelle have made this old barn a comfortable, cosy, spacious, good standard and functionnal place, and even more ! considering their concern about our well-being from the first minute of our stay and on. Very thoughtful hosts throughout the week. It was a pleasure to meet them. I highly recommend.

We were provided with an amazing welcome pack of local produce including excellent regional wine! The swimming pool is stunning and the garden too, we spent most of our time lazing in the pool.
